5 hours Two years ago, Dr. Don Huber spoke at our 3rd Annual Field Day. His talk centered around the chelating effect of glyphosate on trace minerals. What Dr. Huber provided was a refresher course in the fundamentals of plant health. I was privileged to take Dr. Huber back to the airport after the Field Day. Here are a few things Dr. Huber told me: "If you want zinc to work, use manganese. If you want manganese to work, use zinc." "Phosphates carry nutrients in the above-ground portion of plants. Phosphites carry nutrients below ground." "A trace mineral foliar spray is improved by adding a small amount of nickel since most soils don't supply enough to plants." These 3 sentences were merged into the most significant contribution IAL came up with in 2012--the development and offering of WayAhead 7X and 10X. The purpose of WayAhead 7X and 10X is to provide foliar trace minerals to enhance plant health and yield. Both products contain an equal ratio of zinc and manganese at 2%. They also contain 2% phosphite in addition to the labeled phosphate. We also added 0.2% nickel. The products work extremely well and have become an important tool used by farmers and growers to keep their plants healthy and productive.
